Inspired by the “form follows function” concept, KC design and style studio renovated this Taipei apartment by stripping it back to its industrial bones and removing all traces of decoration. The new design for the H Residence began with the standard structure that could build on with a focus on making its visitors flow flexible for much better efficiency.
The homeowner desired two separate spaces, 1 private and the other public, with the private one particular having the option to be utilized as a large, single space or separated into smaller sized spaces to home a gym, dressing area, bathroom, and bedroom. The public location houses an open plan living room, kitchen, and dining location for improved loved ones interactions.
They introduced a colorful folded plate structure on the ceiling helping to define the individual spaces, even though also incorporating lights.
The designers intentionally used a mixture of industrial and rustic components, per the owner’s request, like dark, textured woods paired with shiny stainless steel.
